Holiday Activity Fund (HAF)
Thanks to funding from the Government’s Holiday Activity Fund through Nottingham City Council, we were able to put on four days of FreeFun and Food over the Easter Holidays.
Each day consisted of a swimming lesson, fun swim, opportunity for those aged 11+ to use the gym, table tennis, board games, smoothie making and other seated activities, and a hot meal provided by Tiger Projects.
This scheme is available via vouchers through your school so look out for more dates in August, October, and December.
Creating a Well-Being Hub at The Lenton Centre
The Lenton Centre is joining forces with Guidance and Growth C.I.C. to create a well-being hub.
The wellbeing hub is dedicated to creating transformative spaces for community engagement and personal growth.
We’re creating woodworking and gardening spaces to beautify urban areas, promote sustainability, and support mental health and social interaction.
In our workshops participants will craft items and gain skills, boosting confidence.
Our gardening plots will provide a serene setting for cultivating plants and relationships.
We’ll also be upgrading the counter in reception to create a community café space for everyone to enjoy.
Together, these initiatives aim to strengthen communities, enhance individual well-being, and create greener, healthier urban landscapes.
We have a great range of rewards available from free gym or swim sessions to planters and bird boxes that will be made in the workshop.
To help us fulfil this please consider donating by clicking here.
We’ve Had A Makeover!!!
We want to extend a HUGE TLC Thank you to the team from Volunteer It Yourself (VIY).
Our Hall and Room 1 have been redecorated, and some of the cabinets in the hall have been relocated to the mezzanine increasing the space available for future activities.
Special mention to Kate, Graham, Nottingham College, and the rest of their team
Both spaces are available to rent, click here for more information.
We also want to give a shout out to Gary Court who has done for installing new showers in our gym (yes, you can shower now!)
This was thanks to funding from the Go Greener Workplace Grants through Nottingham City Council.

There’s a New Chairman at The Lenton Centre.
Matt Arnold joined TLC as a Trustee in the Spring of 2020, and after helping with various aspects of the centre over the last few years, Matt took over from Ruth Young in March 2024.
Matt lives locally and first started to get to know the centre whilst doing his swim training for triathlons over 10 years ago. His background is as a Chartered Accountant and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
He takes over from Ruth who has been a long-standing Trustee, and Chairman for the last four years. Thank you, Ruth.
Matt’s aim over the coming months is to continue to increase the usage of the centre, to attract further funding, and to continue to ensure capital investment is made into the building.
