The Lenton Centre, Nottingham
An exciting opportunity to join a pioneering social enterprise in the heart of Nottingham and lead its next stage of development to secure its future and serve the local community.
The Lenton Centre (TLC) was created in 2005 by the local community to take over its leisure and community centre to save them from closure. It now operates its swimming pool and gym, a second pool at another site, an office suite, community room facilities, youth & children’s work, as well as supporting a day centre for adults with learning difficulties, free community meal and other community initiatives.
TLC operates on a tight budget with the dedicated efforts of its staff and volunteers. Having successfully established itself during its first ten years, TLC now needs to be further developed to secure its long-term future, better serve its community and continue its heritage of learning to swim in Lenton. This will be your challenge.
As Chief Executive you will be responsible for the strategic business planning and deliver this through the operational team leaders, whom you will be responsible for managing. You will keep a tight grip of the overall finances, reporting these along with plans, issues and risks to the Board. You will bring the best out of the operational teams and produce business development plans with them, secure grant funding in support of them and champion TLC as an organisation.
